Who Made This?
Conferocas - Sewing Partner
This adorable small factory has its workforce 100% composed of women. One of them is Rosa, the owner, who can always be see working behind a machine, finishing the productions with a smile that transpires on every sustainable piece she makes for us.
Is Cotton Bad for the Environment?
We're going to be honest here. Cotton production is awful for the environment, but let's face it, nothing produces in this quantity is going to be good.
When using cotton we try to use it either recycled, deadstock or, if we really need it, organic. Because using what exists is always going to be better than producing new.
What is Deadstock?
Portugal is one of the biggest clothing producers from Europe, which means a lot of the clothing you see out there made sustainably, is made here.
This generates a lot of waste, sometimes it's a client that didn't like the color the knit turned out, other it's just that the machines need to make more than what is actually needed. And this is deadstock!
They are high-quality fabrics that comply with the environmental and chemical regulamentations that if not used by us (and some other brands) would end up in the trash, or worse, in the ocean!
Here we believe in second chances, so we prefer to give them a new life, in your wardrobe.
How to Care for it?
Wash on Cold Temperatures
Knits always shrink, and cotton ones shrink the most. But it's very simple:
Wash Cold (30º it's not cold , ok?), don't Tumble Dry and always Air Dry Flat, try to lay it out neatly so it retains its shape forever!
